The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) arrives in Portugal, for the first time, through the US Embassy in Portugal in partnership with Impact Hub Lisbon. Registration is open for this program to promote female entrepreneurship from January 18th to February 21st.
The program includes group follow-up sessions, inspirational talks and mentoring with experts until the demo-day in June.
In this pandemic moment in which there is an increase in unemployment and difficulties in business already established, the U.S. Embassy in Portugal will deliver a prize to the 3 winners through a prize for investing in their business, $ 15,000.00, $ 10,000.00 and $ 5,000.00 for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
This program for the first time in Portugal allows women from all over the world to deepen their entrepreneurial skills and build their business model. AWE promotes the development of female entrepreneurship, collective economic prosperity and global stability through a holistic and inclusive learning community.
AWE helps women to develop their entrepreneurial ideas by facilitating the DreamBuilder online course in English, done by Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management and the support and mentoring with tools and network they need to create and grow their business, provided by Impact Hub Lisbon.
The program is in line with the goals of Women’s Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) and this program is part of the US commitment to advance the economic empowerment of women and aims to reach 50 million women worldwide by 2025.
Among the inspirational talks this program has speakers from Portugal, the USA and other countries, who want to share their journey and inspire these women in the direction of entrepreneurship.
