Randi Charno Levine arrived in Lisbon last week to serve as Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Portugal.
Randi Charno Levine presented credentials to the President of the Republic of Portugal, His Excellency Prof. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, on April 22nd.
An advocate of the arts, leader of cultural diplomacy and philanthropist, Charno Levine hopes to reinforce the long-standing collaboration between Portugal and the U.S., in the areas of diplomacy, trade, education, culture and defense.
She states that she “is excited for the opportunity to build bridges across borders in the arts, sciences and business communities, while working side-by-side with the Portuguese people.” The Ambassador emphasized “Together, we will set out to create new people-to-people exchanges that inspire common good, solve global challenges, foster economic prosperity, and promote our countries’ shared democratic values.”
Randi Charno Levine studied Journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia, and is published author. She arrived in Lisbon with her husband Jeffrey E. Levine.
