Ambassador Sherman took his campaign to promote and discuss T-TIP back to the road, this time by leading a delegation to the northern region of Portugal on December 17 and 18.
The delegation visited factories that produce a variety of cloth, shoe, and textile products owned by companies such as Lameirinho, Carlos Santos, Luis Onofre, A. Ferreira e Filhos, and CITEVE.
In addition to the factory visits, the campaign included roundtable discussions held at the Portuguese Shoe and Leather Goods Industry Association (APICCAPS) and the Polytechnic Institute’s School of Technology and Management in Porto and at the Associação Têxtil e Vestuário de Portugal (ATP).
The Ambassador’s T-TIP campaign began last September in Alentejo with a Harley motorcycle ride, followed by a trip on October 22-23 to Portugal’s central region with rides in a vintage Ford Mustang and a state-of-the-art electric Ford. The campaign seeks to attract attention to the potential economic benefits of the trade agreement for Portugal and the U.S. If you are interested in finding out more about Ambassador Sherman’s travels around Portugal, please follow his road trips on Twitter (#AmboRide)
