Ambassador Sherman participated in the opening panel that inaugurated the “Secure Logistics through Cyber” conference held in Lisbon September 19-21. With cyber experts from 11 countries, both in government and academic circles, the US European Command (EUCOM)-funded conference focused on cyberspace perspectives relating to global supply chain protection, international considerations and current unity of effort methodology and best practices. Rear Admiral Antonio Gameiro Marques, Director General of the Gabinete Nacional de Segurança and Director of the Portuguese National Cybersecurity Center, and EUCOM’s Colonel Brian Vile also welcomed the 55 participants. During his remarks, Ambassador Sherman highlighted that “Portugal has been an excellent partner in advancing strategic thinking” in the cybersecurity realm.
