U.S. Ambassador to Portugal Robert Sherman spoke at the “Science and Technology for the Atlantic” conference on July 4 in Lisbon where he discussed how scientific diplomacy is the way to create a better world. According to the Ambassador, “the world’s challenges can only be solved by science,” involving multiple partners, including governments, industries and research institutions and scientific diplomacy, referring to scientific cooperation on several levels, including political, which he asserted can “make the world a better and safer place.”
Portugal and the U.S. already enjoy excellent scientific and technological cooperation, and are exploring different ways to strengthen our bilateral collaboration.
