
U.S. Ambassador to Portugal Robert Sherman was in Coimbra for the first time to visit Mayor Manuel Machado. At the meeting, the Ambassador said the technology produced in Coimbra is among the best in the world and highlighted that he would like to bring investors to the city and help boost jobs and revenue. Sherman believes that the U.S. and Coimbra can develop projects together, adding that one of the Embassy’s main priorities is to support start-ups, innovators and entrepreneurs. He also pointed out that women are increasingly qualified and that one of his goals is to support them in setting up businesses.
