On this day, Consul Elizabeth Konick on behalf of the U.S. Embassy Lisbon, signed a new grant to renew the resources and technological equipment, and to promote activities at the American Corners of the University of the Azores on S. Miguel and Terceira islands.
Originally known as American Corners, these spaces have been around for about a decade, promoting mutual understanding through culture, language, science and American values together with sponsoring countries. These partnerships are managed by local institutions that are responsible for providing logistics and human resources. The State Department provides scientific databases, resources, equipment, and support in organizing academic activities focused on entrepreneurship and innovation.
