The United States Consulate in the Azores made a book donation to the Regional Network for School Libraries on April 30, 2019.
This donation took place at the Domingos Rebelo High School in Ponta Delgada. Participants included U.S. Consul Jason Chue and Library Coordinator Luzia Meneses Borges.
The selection included more than 200 educational books for children and teens about various themes, including American culture, politics, and history, as well as English-language learning.
The Regional Network for School Libraries will distribute the books to schools throughout the Azores based on their particular needs.
Consul Chue had the opportunity to visit the Network’s facilities, meet their staff, and learn more about their activities.
The United States Consulate in the Azores seeks to share information about American culture and history, support English-language learning, and strengthen overall ties between the Azores autonomous region and the United States.
