Civil Rights and US Diversity explained at Vergílio Ferreira high school

On January 29, 2018 Meg Young, Assistant Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy, visited Vergílio Ferreira high school in Lisbon and spoke to a group of  approximately 85 11th graders, on the topic of the Civil Rights Movement and US Diversity. English teacher, Rogério Alves, noted how he appreciated having a U.S. diplomat engage with the students on such an important topic and noted that many of the students participated with questions for Ms. Young.  Mr. Alves received materials to complement the presentation for use in his teaching and to  develop future projects in the classroom with his students.
