The Embassy sponsored the innovative week long program “Beyond Creative” organized by the American Corner at the University of Lisbon’s School of Arts and Humanities. This program sought to bridge the gap between the training and experience of humanities and arts students and the business world with sessions focused on “Markets – global vs. local”, “Production: Innovation vs. Art”, “Word: Author vs. Client”, “Culture: Tourism vs. Tradition” and by leveraging experts from the U.S. like Prof. Peter A. Gloor, MIT Center for Collective Intelligence, and Alice Loy, Creative Startups, as well as local experts from Centro da Inovação da Mouraria and FabLab Lisboa.
Alice Loy gave a workshop entitled “Entrepreneurship in the Creative Economy” and Peter A. Gloor closed the week with a lecture on “Coolhunting and Coolfarming: Trends and Trendsetters”.
