
The Luso-American Foundation for Development (FLAD) in cooperation with the National Science Foundation (NSF) held a conference on “Science and Society: Bioethics in Debate” on Thursday, October 15. The conference was part of a cycle of conferences “30 Years of FLAD – Three Decades of Development: Science, Economics and Politics.
Deputy Chief of Mission, John Olson, presented opening remarks along with FLAD President Vasco Rato and Fausto de Brito e Abreu, the Regional Secretary for Oceans, Science, and Technology. Consul Liz Konick attended the conference and happy to have the opportunity to meet participants from both FLAD and the regional government.
