On September 20th, Chargé d’Affaires Kristin Kane was present at Cinemateca Portuguesa, in Lisbon, to welcome the iconic American director Gus Van Sant to the Queer Lisboa festival.
At this event, we were also able to watch his movie “My Own Private Idaho” anticipated by a very interesting and engaging conversation about the director’s career with João Ferreira, Queer Festival’s artistic director, and José Manuel Costa, director of the Cinemateca Portuguesa.
As the Chargé d’Affaires mentioned in the brief remarks given to those present at the event, the U.S. Embassy in Portugal is very happy to be able to support the Queer Festival as part of our Diversity, Equality and Inclusion efforts, allowing the festival to travel to the Azores.
