MD Anderson Delegation in Portugal

Ambassador Sherman welcomes Dr. DePinho (Photo: US Embassy Lisbon)At the invitation of the American Embassy Lisbon, a delegation from MD Anderson Cancer Center, University of Texas, visited Portugal the week of 17-21 November led by the center’s President, Ronald dePinho.

The delegation participated in a joint Conference on Gastric and Hereditary Cancer held at the University of Lisbon’s Faculty of Medicine on November 20-21, and visited research facilities across the country, including the Portuguese Oncology Institute of Lisbon (IPO Lisbon) and Porto, the University of Porto, University of Aveiro, as well as Champalimaud Foundation and the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon.
