In celebration of Jazz Appreciation Month, and following a request from Amadora High School, the Office of Public Affairs organized a combined event at the school’s Open Day, on April 29. The event took place in the school’s main atrium before over 180 students, and began with a presentation on Multiculturalism and Music, presented by Durwood Young, followed by a musical performance by our in-house band The Diplomatics. Both the elements strove to highlight the importance of music in today’s multicultural societies.
The event enjoyed enthusiastic support from the audience, with the students showing particular appreciation of the band’s jam session.
