From October 8th to 11th the U.S. Embassy in Lisbon was pleased to welcome 15 prominent and bi-partisan U.S. members of Congress to attend the NATO Parliamentary Assembly led by Rep. Gerry Connolly of Virginia in his role as Parliamentary Assembly Chair. The event underscores the deep commitment of NATO members including Portugal and the U.S. to the Alliance.
The U.S. delegation included Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, who spoke gratefully upon receiving the Women for Peace and Security Award from NATO at the Parliamentary Assembly event.
