In coordination with the city and the movie initiative called ‘Fitas na Rua’ the embassy organized outdoor screenings of iconic American films free of charge in iconic locations across the city of Lisbon. In this activity, the film Sabrina, directed by Billy Wilder, was screened in the courtyard of Vila Maia, a small working class neighborhood. Barbarella, by Roger Vadim, was to be seen at Jardim do Arco do Cego, a public garden where not long ago a bus terminal once stood.
Students joined local residents, families for the screenings, including short clips on the local neighborhoods.
