On Wednesday, August 26th, Consulate Ponta Delgada donated a walk-thru metal detector to the Public Security Police (PSP) Regional Command of the Azores. Commissioner Tânia António represented Superintendent Luís Ribeiro Viana at the handover ceremony which took place at the U.S. Consulate. U.S. Consul to the Azores Kathryn Hammond said, “As a federal agent and law enforcement officer, it is my great honor to make this donation today on behalf of the Embassy and the Consulate.” Commissioner António expressed that the walk-thru metal detector would help to make the employees of the PSP safer and thanked the Embassy and the Consulate for the donation.
