On January 12, 2018 a group of 28 university students from the Study in Portugal Network (SiPN) winter program visited U.S. Embassy, Lisbon to learn about what an Embassy does and current priorities for the Mission. These students came from the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island School of Design. They were welcomed by Ambassador George Glass who explained the overall structure of the Embassy and his key priorities. Other officers of the Embassy offered and in depth look at the work of U.S. diplomats in Portugal. The Study in Portugal Network (SiPN) is a program designed and managed by the non-profit Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD), with the support of the Portuguese Ministry of Education and Science, the US Embassy in Lisbon, the Fulbright Commission in Portugal, AICEP, and the Lisbon City Municipality, among others. SiPN provides a flexible study abroad experience designed for North-American students.
