On October 31, U.S. Ambassador to Portugal, George Glass, was the keynote speaker at a lunch-conference organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Portugal in partnership with the American Club of Lisbon, and the Portugal-United States Friendship Association (AAPEUA).
In his speech the Ambassador outlined his priorities, namely: deepening the historic friendship between Portugal and the United States, increasing trade and investment, and ensuring our joint security.
During this event, George Glass also reiterated his support for the families and victims of those affected by fires. He recently paid a visit to Viseu, one of the districts badly affected, and $50,000 were donated to Portugal, through the Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA), to support recovery works and provide assistance to victims.
