U.S. Embassy Staff Meet with Portuguese Entrepreneurs

On July 16, 2015, four entrepreneurs met with Public Affairs Officer Mark Pannell and Foreign Service Officer Caron De Mars for an orientation session about the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in Kenya July 25 and 26. Vera Colaço and Ana Salcedo Guimarães of Manifesto Moda; Cristina Martinho of Acquawise Consulting; and Emília Simões of Last2Ticket were among the 1,000 entrepreneurs and investors invited by U.S. President Obama to attend the sixth GES convened by the U.S. government.

De Mars has been to GES in U.A.E, Malaysia, and Morocco, and was heavily involved in the planning of the GES in Kenya. In addition to telling the entrepreneurs what to expect and how to make the most of their time, she fielded questions and will introduce the women to international participants in the same sectors who will attend the Summit next week.
